Janet Veale

Janet remembers June 1951

Janet Veale

"He mesmerised the children and me alike. I watched how he encouraged them to speak. It was magic."

The Story

Janet was in her final year at Stranmillis College. A visit to an infant school was arranged but this was no ordinary school they were going to. It was a school for Deaf and Blind children. Janet watched how wonderfully the teacher interacted with the children. It left her spellbound. Could this be the vocation for her?
