Brian Scott
"I felt so grateful that I was born here but I go back to that memory of that one example of the profound poverty of 2 billion people on this planet."
The Story
In May 2005 Brian was in North West China visiting the slums into which very poor Muslims had migrated. He describes it as a network of shacks.
He talks of his shock to find a young woman, living in a single room 6' x 6', who unloaded coal from railway wagons for 50p a day, in order to feed her two young children.
Brian is the CEO of Oxfam Ireland. His message is an important one.
