The Story
Lois was 7 years old when WWII ended. On VE day all the children were very excited and Lois and her two sisters went to the top of the street where the tables were laid uot with food that had been rationed. Buns cakes biscuits etc.
But their joy was stopped short when a boy from the street shouted "You're not allowed here". This was because Lois's parents were from the South of Ireland. There was a feeling in some quarters during the war that the South of Ireland was sympathetic towards Germany...
