The Story
It was Sunday 28th September 1958. Derry was playing Dublin in the All Ireland Final in Croke Park. Danny's train ran late and he arrived to meet his friends at Nelson's Column only minutes before the game was due to start. They still had a 20 minute journey on foot to reach Croke Park. They ran all the way but, when they got there, the game was under way and the gates were already closed. Danny and his friends walked around the perimeter of the grounds feeling pretty despondent at their bad luck. They were more than surprised when they discovered another ingenious way to get inside and watch their home-team playing that day. But one surprise led to another...
