The Story
Betty was expecting calls on this day. It was her birthday. The first call came from her son, William, to tell her that there was a possibility of a kidney transplant for him this day. If it were to become a reality, this would surely be the best birthday present she could ever hope for.
Betty tells how they set off to the hospital that day and waited there while the tissue typing procedures were performed to establish if it was indeed to be William's special day
