The Story

At eleven-years-old Raymond took his pony to the Dublin Horse show. The odds were stacked against him, as he was competing against older, more experienced riders. But with 'Ariel' the pony in fine form Raymond had a chance...

Raymond Scott has led a varied and interesting life. We caught up with Raymond and he told us that he went on to represent Ireland with the Irish Junior Show-jumping team. In 1972 he rode a Horse that cost £45,000, which in today's terms would probably pay for a nice Caribbean island!

Unfortunately Raymond left the world of equestrianism when he was 16 due to the huge demands of sponsorship funds. Raymond then went on to have a successful career working with Toyota. He can now be seen whizzing through Belfast as he is a busy sales rep.
