footnotes

"tú" = you
"déanamh" = doing

"Tá mé" = I am. But for professions or beings, use "Is ... " (= I am a ...) e.g. "Is madra " (= I am a dog.) / "Is taibhse " (= I am a ghost.). Colin knows that he would end up having to provide triple filtered mineral water from the Himalayas for the rest of Cumberland's days if he ever uttered the inexcusable "Tá mé múinteoir" ("múinteoir" = teacher), or "Tá mé madra" ("madra" = a dog)
