You might also hear "chuig" (hig) for 'to' or "chuig an" for 'to the'. So "chuig an linn snámha" / "go dtí an linn snámha" both mean 'to the swimming pool'.
"sa" (= in the) affects the next word and dunks a "h" after the first letter. e.g. "bosca" (=a box) but "sa bhosca" (=in the box). "orm" = on me "ort" = on you (singular) "air" = on him "uirthi" = on her "orainn" = on us "oraibh" = on you (plural) "orthu" = on them To show that Betty is the owner of the house ("teach"), a "h" is dunked after the first letter of her name e.g. "teach Bhetty = Betty's house / "cat Bhetty" = Betty's cat.
