Colin & Cumberland is an introduction to the Irish language through television, radio and online. Short animated television programmes based on the comic capers of Colin and Cumberland introduce the viewer to their world and encourage them to visit this games-rich website and learn some key Irish phrases.
All the components of this project are carefully structured to deliver the language content and are based on a sound pedagogical approach developed by language specialists.
The main language learning content is found within 'The Game' on this website which contains a series of mini-games. Learning follows the same structure within all the mini-games providing a logical and simple progression.
All language content can also be found within the Little Black Book/Wordbank (mirrored in the Little black book within 'The Game'). This can be used as a reference whilst playing the games or as a simple learning tool.
Audio recordings are available of all the language examples helping the user with pronunciation.
