Glasgowbury 2008
CAT MALOJIAN
DESCRIBE IN THREE WORDS: Malojian Zealous Malojian

CROWD REACTION: Despite playing at a peak time of the festival Cat Malojian were unlucky to end up with a fairly subdued bunch in the acoustic tent. Given Cat's reputation as soothing folk tunesmiths the audience had perhaps sought the solace of this tent to nurse their afternoon hangovers in preparation for the festivities to come.

REMARKABLE MOMENT: Unfortunately the noise coming from the main stage seemed to affect the boys' performance. Cat Malojian's beautiful blend of Americana is very much based on playing off each other and the sound of Ed Zealous and So I Watch You From Afar booming behind put them off their game. For those listening the noise from the other stages was only apparent between songs and I think the Lurgan men were more upset about their set than the crowd. Afterwards singer Stevie Scullion said he was having difficulty hearing banjo-playing buddy Jonathan Toman and didn't rate their performance amongst the band's best.
