Describe In Three Words: Seattle, Salford, Stradbally.
Remarkable Moment: They came on stage, they played some songs and they left. Everything in-between was a highlight. At a push, Johnny Marr (the coolest guitarist on the planet, so cool he could give Rigsy lessons in coolness, but he wouldn’t because that wouldn’t be cool) who has revitalised one of the best bands around. Lifting songs from across their back-catalogue ‘Satin In A Coffin’ is riotous, while their recent singles require no vocals as we’re all singing along.
Crowd Reaction: We’re going mad for the sound-check. Barring openly insulting us we’re going to have a great time – as shown by the multitudes unable to get in. Stopping mid-song to apologise for past crimes of putting on fake Irish accents wins us over entirely. It’s special seeing them in a setting this small.
EP Rating: 9.999999, ok 10 - modesty is a virtue.
