Describe In Three Words: Disco house goodness.
Remarkable Moment: North American Scum is pretty special but, bar that tune about Daft Punk, it’s obvious that these guys don’t have bags of well-known hits to pick from. Still, the five New York City dance punks are able to maintain the interest of a few thousand revelers on a chilly Friday evening, which is no mean feat.
Crowd Reaction: Whilst a less educated member of the audience chooses to throw a pint over Murphy before he even takes to the microphone, the crowd seems generally in good form and up for a bit of a rave - LCD are here to deliver just that. The tunes are all beat-laiden and mechanical, which works well to sustain a steady pulse to the whole affair. It a little unusual that a band of this size are headlining the main stage, and it’s a bit of a pity that they don’t play Losing My Edge, but all in all this is a pretty faultless set, and a nice way to round off the evening’s events. Jolly goo.
EP Rating: A rocksteady 8.
