Remarkable Moment: The main stage's first act of the weekend are greeted by a desperately enthusiastic gathering, hungry for the rave. Hot Chip bring it in droves, despite looking like a quintet of travelling plumbers. 'Boy From School' is the first proper 'moment', hands in the air, everyone singing what lyrics they know and making up the rest. A couple of new tunes are unveiled - they're promising, solid and a little rockier than before. One sounds like The Macarena (their words, not ours), but slightly less frightening than that description suggests. 'Over and Over', expanded for our pleasure, wrecks the place. Inevitable, really.

Crowd Reaction: We're only warming up at this stage, but it bodes well.
