The Q are a bluesy punk outfit hailing from Derry City. Their soulful sound is influenced by countless bands and artists ranging from The Clash, The Jam, The Strokes, Cream, The Rolling Stones and Joy Division.

Paul Connolly leads the group, Tom Nicholl and Thomas Doherty perform guitar duties, Barry Fahy compliments this on bass while Rory Nicholl plays drums. The Q take a passionate approach to their music, their lyrics are fresh and offer escape from the normal constrictions of everyday scenarios while still bearing a message.

Over the two years The Q have been together they have developed a love of hats, maroon cars, mikado biscuits and Spike Milligan literature works. Over the summer the band went into an undisclosed countryside location to hibernate for a week with a diet of fishing, cooking, cycling and interpretive dance whilst wearing shaving foam in a gale force storm. Paul recently played Jesus in a local production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. The 39 lashes scene caused some problems.
