When Theatreworks bring their touring production of The Turn Of The Screw to Royal & Derngate, they'll be looking for a local amateur actor to tread the boards with the professional cast. This chilling ghost story, based on the book by Henry James, takes to the Royal stage from Tuesday, 6th May to Saturday, 10th May. The play stars Leah Bracknell, Emmerdale's vet Zoe Tate as the governess left in charge of two orphaned children abandoned by their previous carers in mysterious circumstances. The company is looking for someone to take the part of a pallbearer and also a servant, making several non-speaking appearances during the play. Volunteers must be over 17 years old, male and available for all seven performances, every evening Tuesday to Saturday and matinees on Thursday and Saturday afternoon. This is a great opportunity to experience working with a professional theatre company, and the chosen person will be paid expenses. Open auditions will be held at Royal & Derngate on Monday, 5th May.Anyone wanting to audition should come along to the theatre at 4.00pm. If you want to find out more about what's involved you can phone Miles at Theatreworks on 01684 578342.
