Easter Floods Remembered

Ten years after floods devastated large parts of Northamptonshire, we recall the tragedy and ask if it could happen again.

Easter 1998 is etched into the memories of thousands of Northamptonshire people.

The rain, which started on Maundy Thursday (9th April), barely stopped. One month's worth of rain fell in a single day.

No one predicted the result: two people died and 2,500 properties were flooded.

During April 2008, the BBC Northamptonshire website will be remembering the Easter Floods of 10 years ago. Throughout the month, we will be adding features and multimedia to these pages.

We would like to hear your memories of Easter 1998 and how the floods have affected you. Please tell us by filling in the form below. Selected comments will be published on the website or someone may contact you for further information.

Do you have any photos of the floods? If so, and you'd like us to add them to our photo gallery, email them to us.

We had to live upstairs for a month. There was no electricity. I remember the terror and fright.

Tell us how you were affected by the 1998 Easter Floods.
