Why?

By Emily Cale, 12, from Oundle.

In my life I ask many questions,
Usually the one called why.
So why at the moment am I silent,
And not questioning my life?
I will tell you why.
Because at the moment I do not want to know why people are so mean,
Why they shout hit and scream.
I don't even want to know how the Earth began,
Because all I can do at the moment is think, and write, and plan.
I even sometimes wonder if there is a God,
But now at the moment,
Those thoughts are dead and gone.
You might ask why this is,
But all I can say think,
Because the answer is always there,
As long as you are prepared to find it.
So now as my poem ends,
I will tell you why I am writing his,
And I ask the question why.
Because I can't find an answer,
To why people dislike me,
And I never think I will,
Until someone asks me.
