Frozen

By Katherine Audrey Eaton, 10, from Thrapston.

What has the cold night left us?
Water droplets frozen on the peaks of winter branches,
Tired cobwebs dangle in a row of frozen pearls,
What has the cold night left us?
The bushes are left in a white winter mist,
As frosty flakes dangle to their bare brown legs
And the pond is frozen up in a greeny-brown whirly dream
What has the cold night left us?
The watering can is all frozen up,
The plants cannot be watered,
I'm in a trance, left standing in a trance.
The snow has wondered down to the fence and it is painted in a coat of white,
What has the cold night left us?
Everything is still, deathly still,
The trees they are still, deathly still,
And we are left in a frozen silence.
