Will Monty win by a whisker?

Find out how Monty Panesar's beard could bag him a very unique title in late December, if he's crowned Beard of The Year.

He may have been overlooked for two Ashes tests before the third test's five wicket heroics, but he did recently pick up the BBC Look East Sports Personality of the Year award.

However, retaining the Ashes might not be anything compared with the chance of bagging this next coveted title.

BBC Radio Northampton is backing Monty Panesar's bid to win Beard of the Year - the award presented by the Beard Liberation Front on Thursday, 28th December.

BBC Radio Northampton's Richard Savage spoke to the Beard Liberation Front's Keith Flett about the awards and Monty's nomination:
