Boobs and Brass

A group of women from Northamptonshire have formed only the second all-female brass band in Britain, and they're calling themselves 'Boobs and Brass'.

Some members of the band say chauvinism is rife in the brass band world and believe that it's time women proved what they can do.

The idea for 'Boobs and Brass' came from Jane Nichols and Maggie Betts. Both Jane and Maggie (both front row cornets) have played in brass bands in and around the Northampton area for a number of years, and had always wanted to put together an 'all girls' band.

  • Date: Saturday, 30th September.
  • Time: 7:30pm.
  • Location: Kettering Parish Church.
  • Tickets: £7.00 in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign.
