Platinum-selling pianist and singer Jamie Cullum will give his hits an airing when he plays at Thetford Forest this summer. The open-air gig is one of two woodland concerts which the 26-year-old will perform, with the second at Cheshire's Delaware Forest. The picnic-style show on the Norfolk-Suffolk border will follow some of the biggest headline dates of Cullum's career at London's Royal Albert Hall. He is, however, no stranger to outdoor venues, having played a major show in the majestic grounds of Oxfordshire's Blenheim Palace. The Wiltshire-born star's 2003 album Twenty-Something sold 300,000 copies to go platinum, propelling his status to the UK's best-selling jazz performer. By the time his piano is hoisted on to the Thetford stage, Cullum's latest stage show should be well-honed, having completed a massive winter tour of Europe and America. The July show is the third concert to be announced at the High Lodge venue. The 6,000 tickets for UB40's gig sold out within a day of going on sale last week, while around a thousand tickets are still available for indie band Embrace's show on Saturday 10 June. - Tickets are £27.50 and go on sale at 9am on Friday 27 January 2006.
