Tim Bowness will perform a special set

BBC Radio 2 song club

A circle of local singer-songwriters brought together by BBC Radio 2 is performing a showcase at the Norwich Arts Centre on Monday 19 December 2005.

The cream of local songwriting talent will be revealing their latest tracks at a festive concert, after being united by BBC Radio 2's Sold On Song campaign earlier this year.

Special guest Tim Bowness as well as Lisa Redford, Phil Critten, Abyss, Eastern Seaboard, Mythtwister, Sarah Sixsmith and Andrew Taylor are among those due to step onto the stage at Norwich Arts Centre from 8pm.

The musicians are part of a local songwriting club which meets once a month after being kick-started and funded by Radio 2, along with circles in Dundee, Nottingham and Plymouth.

The Christmas showcase will be presented by the station's Mark Hagen, who co-ordinated the Sold On Song showcase in April at the city's Imagine venue.

The project aims to encourage people to work together in a creative environment.

Tickets are £5 and available on the door. Money raised will be used to fund the group.
