Elton John: link
Elton John will be performing in Norwich

On track to create Elton's ultimate top 20

Which of Elton's songs should appear in a Norfolk top 20 of his greatest hits? BBC Radio Norfolk is planning a special programme, featuring the music of the Rocket Man, on Monday 2 May - but it's up to you to compile the play-list.

The BBC in Norfolk is searching for the county's ultimate top 20 Elton John songs.

The singer who brought us Rocket Man, Sacrifice and I'm Still Standing, is on his way to Carrow Road next month and to celebrate, the radio station wants you to decide which of his hits has made the biggest impression.

The top 20 will be broadcast on BBC Radio Norfolk on Monday 2 May, 2005 in a three hour bank-holiday special, presented by Stephen Bumfrey from 10am (BST).

Stephen is looking forward to finding out what the county thinks.

"We've been playing Elton's music on BBC Radio Norfolk for years now and he has such a broad appeal," he said.

"Elton's had more than 70 hits in the top 40 over the years and some top selling albums. There's plenty to choose from," he added.

Nominate your favourite Elton tracks

To register your Elton nominations, fill in the form below or on the slip printed in the Eastern Daily Press on the 8, 12 and 19 April.

By entering your nominations, you could win a pair of top-priced tickets to see the rock legend at Carrow Road on Sunday 29 May, 2005. He's expected to be on stage for two hours, belting out numbers from Philadelphia Freedom to Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word.

"Every voting slip or online entry we receive will go into a draw, and the one we pull out will get a pair of tickets," said Stephen.

"Make sure you include your phone number on the form because I could be ringing you to break the good news during my programme on 2 May," he added.
