Norwich City fans are worried their team won't win a match while in the Premiership (Saturday 2 October: Norwich 2, Portsmouth 2, eight games and not one win!) and consequently I'm concerned I will miss the first band. Warm-up I arrived just in time to catch the start of dragSTER's set but missed DJ Chris Loafer in the bar. The Coventry five-piece, three-girl and two-boy band, mix sassy and sexy lead vocals with punk rock and 1950's roll. Their set went at full throttle from the minute they emerged on stage. They have a passion about what they play and what they have to say. This band could have ripped Norwich apart but held back; they tried to include the audience in their performance but I'm not sure Norwich was quite ready for them. The Neutrinos returned to their spiritual home at the Norwich Arts Centre for the city launch of their debut album, Sick Love, so I was surprised that they crept so politely on to the stage. The Neutrinos are a blend of people with individual styles and dress. If you could queue them up on a police ID line, you wouldn't make the connection that they belong to the same band. Hypnotic front woman Led by the mesmerising Karen Reilly, it takes the band seconds to gain full attention. Karen has a way of drawing you into whatever she's doing on stage and by following her gaze you are taken on a journey. She has the capability to hit the highest notes and then drop suddenly depending on what she is singing. Her interaction with the audience between songs is also part of her charm. Having only seen The Neutrinos once before, I am surprised at how familiar the songs are to me. I always feel that if a band makes you want to buy their CD before their set is over, it's going to be good night. Line-up change Saturday's line-up included Simon (Bob) Morrison on drums as Lee Tallowin is taking a break to look after his new baby. Greg Dunning on second guitar was introduced after the first few songs which took The Neutrinos to a five-piece band. The group played tracks from their album including Murder, Sell Me Your Skin, Blood Red Lips and Better In Your Head. Each song has something special about it and the audience is transfixed at what is unfolding before them, listening intently at each and every word. If I'd been sitting at one of the summer festivals and The Neutrinos had come on the main stage early in the evening, I would have known that it was going to be fantastic night. I look forward to the band's development in the future and know that once word about the The Neutrinos has spread, it will spread very quickly.
