Aspects of a complaint against an edition of Panorama about the care of the elderly at home have been upheld by the BBC's Editorial Complaints Unit. The complaint was brought by an employee of a care agency who had been secretly filmed by a reporter posing as an applicant for employment as a carer.
The employee complained that the footage had been misleadingly edited and that Fran Baker's report did nothing to show the dedicated care she gave to clients.

The Editorial Complaints Unit, which investigates complaints independently of programme-makers, ruled that the material was not selectively edited to produce a misleading impression. Experts in the field had advised that the complainant's behaviour had fallen below acceptable standards.
However, the programme was less than fair to the complainant in two respects.
