Stormzy cancels live appearances for the rest of 2016

Stormzy has cancelled the rest of his live appearances for the year - except for one.

The 23-year-old artist says upcoming performances have been "postponed due to reasons out of my control".

His only show for the rest of the year will be at 1Xtra Live in October, where he is headlining.

He shared the news earlier on his Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages but didn't fully explain why.

He wrote: "My g's, it is with the heaviest of hearts I have to inform you that, with the exception of 1Xtra Live, the remainder of my live shows and festival appearances for 2016 have been postponed due to reasons outside of my control.

The grime artist apologised to his fans

"You lot know how much I love and enjoy performing so I hope you can envision and understand how substantial the reasons are in order for me to such a decision.

"For those of you that have already bought tickets my own headline shows, I hope to be announcing rescheduled dates very soon so stay tuned.

"Deepest apologies and big love as always, Stormz."

The rapper was due to play at Listen Out festival in Australia, which takes place this weekend and next weekend.

The news comes days after Mercury Prize winner Skepta was forced to cancel gigs in Australia and New Zealand for "an unexpected and personal reason, external".

And fellow grime artist Devlin has also cancelled his tour, external "due to personal reasons and commitments."
