The Wanted have announced a UK tour which will start at Liverpool's Echo Arena on 14 March 2014.

The boy band will visit 13 cities including Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Belfast and London.

The UK leg of the Word of Mouth tour will finish in Nottingham on 1 April.

Before the UK dates the group will tour countries across Europe and will play a number of North American cities afterwards. Tickets go on sale next week.

Talking about the tour, Max George said: "We can't wait to get back on the road, for what is our biggest tour so far.

"One of the best things about being in a band is performing live in front of the fans, and to do that across the world has always been our dream.

"Every night is going to be one long party."

The Wanted release their third studio album, Word of Mouth, on 4 November.

Their last record, Battleground, was released in 2011 and featured number one single Glad You Came.

Band member Tom Parker said: "It's taken us two years to make this album and now that it's finally finished we are all really proud of the time and effort, not just that we put into it but all the writers and the label too.

"We think it's our strongest album to date. We can't wait for our fans to hear it. They've been really patient but hopefully they'll think it's worth the wait."

Four singles have already been released from the album; Chasing the Sun, I Found You, Walks like Rihanna and We Own the Night.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on 12 October with support from The Vamps.
