Manx sports scholars thank millionaire Gubay for donation
Isle of Man millionaire and philanthropist Albert Gubay has been honoured for his charity work by the Pope.
The Vatican has announced that the Kwik Save founder will receive a Papal Knighthood, the highest award a Roman Catholic lay person can receive, on 23 February.
Among his many charitable donations, Mr Gubay, a keen footballer and sportsman, donated £500,000 to Manx Sports Aid in 2006 to provide financial assistance to the island's top sportsmen and women.
BBC Isle of Man has been catching up with some of the recipients of the scholarship: motorcyclist Alex Rockwell, golfer Emma Harris and swimmer Grant Halsall.
