Pope's blessing heard by thousands

Pope Benedict has given his penultimate blessing to pilgrims in St Peter's Square, following his resignation earlier this week.

A crowd of tens of thousands gathered to hear him recite the Angelus prayer and deliver a lesson about Christ in the desert for Lent.
