Geoff Parkins' daughter Lesley and husband Ben didn't need to worry about the weather on their big day - they married underwater off the Seattle coast, US.

Kristina McNicol: "We had a pirate-themed wedding in British Columbia, Canada. The guests were invited to dress up as well."

Nhlangano Nyembe and his wife Gugu Mntambo, from Johannesburg, South Africa, married in a Shinto Shrine in Ono City, Japan in August 2010. Nhlangano said: "This was probably the first wedding of its kind - a traditional Japanese Shinto, by two Africans in Japan."
