Doctor Who at 50: Politics and religion in series analysed
Half a century ago the nation's favourite sci-fi doctor entered our living rooms.
This week the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who will be celebrated, culminating in a special episode on Saturday.
Felicity Evans spoke to Dr Andrew Crome, a lecturer in theology at Manchester University who edited a book exploring the role of religion in the show, and Dr Matthew Ashton, lecturer in politics at Nottingham Trent University who has also written about the politics of the programme.
