Caldey Island book sheds light on monastery

For two years the Cistercian order at Caldey Island invited a writer and photographer to follow them in their daily routine.

They captured rare glimpses of religious festivals, midnight vigils and everyday life at the abbey, off the coast of Pembrokeshire.

The abbot, Father Daniel, says he wanted to get away from the typical stereotype.
