A Dumfries man who admitted being in possession of extreme pornographic images has been told he could face a jail term.
Euan McKean, 28, of Broomlands Drive, heard guidelines indicated he should be given a prison sentence.
He committed the offence between April 2013 and January this year. He also admitted downloading indecent images of children during the same period.
Sheriff George Jamieson deferred sentence to 15 July.
Dumfries Sheriff Court heard that a large number of the images were at the most serious end of the scale and the sheriff described it as a "troubling case."
