A funding package has been announced to help tackle fuel poverty in Dumfries and Galloway.
The £300,000 will finance energy efficiency measures in homes in some of the most deprived parts of the region.
About 41% of families in the region are said to be living in fuel poverty - the third highest rate in Scotland.
As part of wider efforts to tackle the issue, a bid had been made for more than £400,000 from the Scottish government's Home Insulation Scheme.
The term fuel poverty is used to describe households which spend more than 10% of their overall income on energy bills.
Dumfries and Galloway Council - as part of its housing strategy - has set a target of reducing regional rates by 20% over the next five years.
The funding bid is part of that effort.
The money will be used to finance energy efficiency measures in 6,500 homes in Stranraer and the North Rhins which are said to have the highest levels of deprivation.
