Aidan McPherson has not been seen since Friday night
The mother of a teenager missing in Moray since Hogmanay has begged him to come home.
Aidan McPherson, 19, was last seen by a friend in the Newmill Road area of Elgin last Friday.
Police divers have been searching the River Lossie and have also carried out ground searches, poster appeals and are studying CCTV.
Making her appeal to her son, Aileen McPherson said: "Please, please come home Aidan."
His disappearance is said to be totally out of character.
Mrs McPherson said: "It seems like months not days. It's a constant worry, we just hope he'll come through the door.
"I just feel that he's not in Elgin. I think he must have met with someone and gone somewhere.
"As the days go on the more worried we get."
'Past celebrations'
Mr McPherson is described as being about 5ft 5in tall, of slight build, with short, fair hair.
When last seen he was wearing a dark jacket and jeans.
Grampian Police Det Insp Paul McCruden said: "We are now well past the point where this could have been a prolonged New Year celebration."
The inquiry involves about 20 officers.
