
Mr Gillies died after being airlifted to hospital
A fisherman has died after falling overboard in the Sound of Mingulay in the Western Isles on Sunday.
Gerard Gillies, who was 42, was pulled out of the water by another man on board the creel boat Annie T.
Stornoway Coastguard received a mayday call at about 13:25 and the Barra RNLI lifeboat was sent out and took Mr Gillies to Castlebay on Barra.
Mr Gillies, who was from Vatersay, was then airlifted to Western Isles Hospital in Lewis where he later died.
