Police believe a vehicle has been driven across a green at a golf course in a deliberate act of vandalism.
The damage to the 16th green at Royal Dornoch Golf Course in Dornoch was caused some time between 20:00 on 17 July and 07:00 on 18 July.
Royal Dornoch is one of Scotland's best known golf courses.
The club and course were established in the late 1800s by champion golfer and legendary course designer Old Tom Morris.
Before World War One, the course was popular with high-profile male and female golfers, including Ernest Holderness and Joyce Wethered.
