A female osprey has returned to a Highlands breeding site for the ninth year in a row.
EJ has raised several young at RSPB Scotland's Loch Garten reserve, near Aviemore.
The RSPB said the 14-year-old bird appeared on Thursday afternoon holding a rainbow trout.
Like most ospreys, EJ spends the winter in West Africa before flying thousands of miles back to Scotland in late March or early April.
