Scottish election: Voting guide in pictures
D-DAY: Thursday, 5 May, marks the day when electors in Scotland go to the polls to choose their constituency MSPs and their regional list MSPs. They will also decide whether to vote yes or no in the AV referendum.
BALLOT PAPER ONE: The lilac-coloured ballot paper is used to elect your constituency MSP. Put an X next to the name of the candidate you support.
BALLOT PAPER TWO: The peach-coloured ballot paper is used to elect your regional members. Again you mark an X next to the party or individual candidate you support.
BALLOT PAPER THREE: The light grey-coloured ballot paper is used in the referendum on the Alternative Vote system for future Westminster elections. Once again you use an X against either the "yes" or the "no" boxes.
BALLOT BOX: Once you have finished placing your three Xs on the three separate ballot papers, take all three papers and put them into the ballot box provided.
