Chief Electoral officer defends NI count speed

Chief Electoral Officer Graham Shields has defended the slow pace of counting and verification of results from all of Northern Ireland 18 constituencies.

He said staff worked extremely hard throughout the night to complete the initial part of the verification process, describing the most important part of the counting as 'accuracy' rather than 'speed'.
