In pictures: Salisbury Cathedral sculpture unveiled
A 32ft life-size wooden boat that fills the North Transept of Salisbury Cathedral has been unveiled as part of the Salisbury International Arts Festival.
The Longest Journey was created by Brazilian sculptor Ana Maria Pacheco and features 10 figures, each over two metres tall, afloat or adrift in a boat.
The sculpture, which was the centrepiece of a large exhibition of Pacheco’s work at The Gas Hall in Birmingham in 1994, had to be divided into eight pieces to get it through the doors of the medieval building.
A second work - Memoria Roubada - is also being exhibited at the cathedral for the duration of the festival.
The work features a cabinet containing six heads each expressing a range of emotions as they focus on a pierced heart before them.
The Longest Journey and Memoria Roubada will be exhibited at Salisbury Cathedral until 13 June.
