In pictures: Wiltshire's summer crop circles
The Wiltshire Crop Circle Study Group (WCCSG) has taken aerial photos of patterns in the county's fields. This circle appeared in Fonthill Down near Chicklade. It uses an overlapping circles design known as 'vesica pisces' common in many crop circles.
This circle was photographed in Hannington near Cricklade in early May. The design resembles a lotus flower which is regarded in many different cultures as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth.
The circle above was photographed at Honeystreet near Alton Barnes in July. Measuring 150ft (45.72m) in diameter, this design displays unusual inner patterns which resemble peacock tails.
This circle appears at the foot of the White Horse of Alton Barnes at Milk Hill and measures 170ft (51.82m) in diameter.
In June in West Woods near Marlborough, the above circle was discovered. From some angles, this pattern takes on a three dimensional appearance, looking dome-like in the landscape and resembles a celtic shield.
