Work on the landmark bridge will be completed in the autumn
A landmark bridge's distinctive gondola is having a facelift as part of ongoing £2.6m works.
The revamp is part of improvements to the Tees Transporter Bridge Visitor Experience Project.
The new design will allow visitors of the renovated gondola to enjoy better views up and down the river.
New glass panel sidings - in keeping with the original design from 1911 - will be installed as part of the project.
It has been paid for through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
A free replacement bus service continues to operate between Middlesbrough and Port Clarence during the renovation works and the bridge is due to reopen in the autumn.
