The last confirmed sighting of Karl Bunster was in Hastings on 17 December
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder following the disappearance of a man from East Sussex.
Karl Bunster, 37, from Hastings, was last seen on 17 December.
He failed to appear before magistrates in the town on 30 December to answer two charges of assault by beating.
A 48-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were arrested in Exeter, Devon, on Wednesday and are being taken to Sussex for questioning.
The last confirmed sighting of Mr Bunster was in Mann Street, Hastings.
Police trying to trace him have made inquiries in Kent, Devon and Scotland.
