Hastings Pier rebuild work reaches next stage

Construction work to rebuild Hastings Pier has reached its next stage.

The structure is undergoing a £14m rebuild after it was almost entirely destroyed in a fire in 2010.

The Hastings Pier Charity said work on the parade extension had been largely completed and the refurbishment of the pavilion to create a new restaurant can now start.

The existing structure is being retained as far as possible, the charity's spokesman added.
