Ipswich Community Radio is looking for a new home

A local radio station is looking for new premises and new leadership after its board of directors resigned.

Ipswich Community Radio has broadcast from the CSV Media Clubhouse on Princes Street since 2003, but on Wednesday it was decided the tie would be broken.

Bruce MacGregor, manager of the clubhouse and former chairman of ICR, said the studio space was required to generate money for CSV.

ICR has set up an interim board and hopes to have a new home by Christmas.

Mr MacGregor said there was "financial pressure" on CSV, a learning and volunteer charity, and its clubhouse where media skills are taught.

Nick Greenland, who was the paid station co-ordinator but is now doing the role in a voluntary capacity, said the search had begun for a new board of directors.

He said they would look for people with marketing skills and who had contacts with local businesses.
