Felixstowe haul of 78 samurai swords found

  • Published

Seventy-eight illegal samurai swords and 348 knives have been seized at the Port of Felixstowe.

The consignment had come from Pakistan and was destined for Birmingham.

The smugglers had listed the items, which will now be destroyed, as printed matter.

Bill Form, UK Border Agency, said: "It's an unusual seizure for us at Felixstowe, where we're more used to finding drugs, cigarettes and counterfeit goods."

No arrests have been made.
