Victorian artist turned nun wins acclaim for glass work

More than 60 years after her death, a woman who created stained glass windows found in churches around the world has been recognised for her achievements.

Artist Margaret Rope, born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, in 1882, was considered an unconventional rebel in her youth, but went on to become a Carmelite nun.

Heavenly Lights and Shifting Shadows, at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, is the first exhibition dedicated solely to her work.
