The Princess Royal was greeted by thousands of people as she attended day two of the annual Royal Norfolk Show in Norwich on Thursday. Photographs by David Keller.
At the Norfolk Showground the princess took over presidency of the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth from the Duke of Edinburgh. "It's always a special day when a royal visitor comes to the show," said show manager Sarah de Chair.
During her visit the princess also saw the show's prize-winning livestock entries and spoke to some of the county's young farmers. Around 100,000 people were predicted to attend the show during the two days.
Out on the showground on day two there were a number of local celebrities including 12-year-old Britain's Got Talent star Ronan Parke, who pulled-in around 100 fans to a packed BBC Norfolk stand.
Events on the Grand Ring continued during the largest two-day agricultural show in the country, including a display by the Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team - The White Helmets.
On day one the sun also shone at the Royal Norfolk Show, which has taken place in the county since the late 1800s. Heavy horses pulled-in the crowds at the Grand Ring.
Thousands of people of all ages turned out to view the show in Costessey, with school children having the day off to attend on Thursday. Events this year included a number of displays, livestock judging, animal shows and local food demonstrations.
New attractions at the Norfolk Showground this year included a 1950s farm machinery display and the first ever appearance by Team Lotus F1, which is based in Norfolk.
The show is an important one for trade, with agricultural firms from around the country selling their wares and giving a significant boost to Norfolk's rural economy. Demand for stands at this year's show remained strong with all pitches selling out.
Despite the tough economic climate, livestock competition entries had been "extremely buoyant", according to the show's chief executive, John Purling. Many business budgets for the show however were cut, with Norfolk County Council halving its spend during the two days.
Former Norwich City footballers Paul McVeigh (centre) and Iwan Roberts (right) were also at the Royal Norfolk Show to promote the Canaries' Community Sports Foundation.
The RAF Falcons Freefall Parachute Team was one of the main attractions with their airmen swooping into the Grand Ring, led by Flt Sgt Wayne Clayton from Norfolk.
