In pictures: The Darkness play reunion gig in Norwich
Lowestoft glam-rock band The Darkness, fronted by Justin Hawkins (pictured), debuted their new look and songs at a sell-out gig at the Norwich Waterfront on 5 June - their first together since splitting in 2006. Photos by Ben Matthews/Music Pics.
Tickets for the East Anglian homecoming gig sold out within six hours of going on sale. The band are made up of Justin Hawkins (left), Frankie Poullain (right), Ed Graham (background centre) and Justin's brother Dan Hawkins.
The concert was the first of three scheduled warm-up shows before the band play at the Download Festival at Donnington Park this weekend in front of an estimated 80,000 people.
The Darkness gained worldwide success after the release of their 2003 debut album Permission to Land which sold more than one million copies and featured the hit singles I Believe in a Thing Called Love and Growing on Me.
Their second album, One Way Ticket to Hell... And Back, was released in 2005 but failed to sell as well as their debut and led to lead singer Justin Hawkins leaving the band and undergoing rehabilitation for alcohol and cocaine problems.
Dan and Ed formed Stone Gods, while Justin stepped out as Hot Leg, before it was announced in March 2011 that The Darkness would reform and play in East Anglia at the Norwich Waterfront - a venue they first played in 2003.
